Nashua-Plainfield Forms Land Use Committee for Future of Plainfield Site

The Nashua-Plainfield School District has formed a committee to help determine the future of the site of the former Plainfield school building.

The school closed three years ago and, since then, all of the district’s students have attended classes in Nashua. The building itself was demolished in early September and now the Plainfield School Site Land Use Committee has been charged with recommending what’s next.

Superintendent Todd Liechty says the most popular plan supported during a recent school board meeting is building a new baseball facility.

Liechty adds the site offers enough space to be home to both baseball and softball.

In recent years, the Huskies baseball team played its home games on the north side of Nashua on the field owned by the Big Four Fair.

The land use committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday, November 3, at 6 p.m.  in the high school/middle school commons. Liechty says they hope the comittee can make a recommendation to the school board in December.
