Floyd, Chickasaw and Fayette counties saw decreases in the number of new positive COVID cases this week, while several other north Iowa counties experienced an increase when compared to the week prior.
According to data from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), Floyd County had 42 new positive COVID cases for the seven-day period ending Tuesday, October 26th, compared to 46 for the reporting period the week prior. Chickasaw County also dropped over the same period from 27 to 19. Fayette saw the biggest decline from 69 down to 44 this week.
IDPH data shows increases in positive COVID cases this week for Cerro Gordo County with 104 (101 last week), Butler with 45 (33), Bremer with 33 (31), Winneshiek with 31 (16), Howard with 30 (21), Franklin with 22 (8), and Mitchell County with 19 (15).
Worth County had the lowest number of new positive COVID cases for the area this week at 13, which was identical to the prior week’s reporting period.
