Don’t Forget Your ID at Your Polling Place

Voters will be going to the polls Tuesday to vote on various city and school board elections across the area.

One of Iowa’s new voting laws is that polls for all elections are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays.  Floyd County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Gloria Carr says one thing that hasn’t changed is providing proof of your identity and residency at your polling precinct.

If you’re concerned about COVID safety while voting, Carr says Floyd County is taking a number of measures to keep workers and voters safe.  She adds if you have physical limitations or are not feeling well, but still wish to vote, curbside voting is available. Carr says go to your regular polling place, where there will be a tent with the phone number to that precinct, call it, and a worker will come outside to you to accommodate casting your ballot.
