Positive COVID Cases Up in Floyd, Chickasaw Counties

Floyd and Chickasaw counties both saw the number of new positive COVID cases this week increase from the week prior according to the latest data from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH).

The IDPH Coronavirus Dashboard shows Floyd County with 50 new positive cases for the 7-day reporting period ending Tuesday, November 2. That’s up from 42 the previous week. Chickasaw County also went up from 19 to 28, Cerro Gordo from 104 to 118, Bremer from 31 to 48, Winneshiek from 31 to 34, and Mitchell County was up from 19 to 34 new positive COVID cases.

Showing a decline is Butler County, which also had 34 new positive COVID cases for the 7-day reporting period ending Tuesday, down from 45 the week prior. Fayette County also dropped from 44 to 37, Howard from 30 to 22, Franklin from 22 to 17, and Worth County from 14 to 13, for the lowest total of new COVID cases in the region for the second week in a row.
