Two Arrested in New Hampton on Drug, Assault Charges

Two people were arrested on drug and assault-related charges in New Hampton early Friday morning.

The New Hampton Police Department says they received a 911 shortly before 6 a.m. and officers were sent to an apartment at 124 East Main Street. An investigation led to the arrests of 28-year-old Tammy Berger and 38-year-old Christian Roys, both of New Hampton. A search warrant was later obtained for the residence, resulting in various charges.

Roys was charged with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, a Class B felony; gathering where controlled substances are used, possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, all serious misdemeanors. Additional charges against Roys include keeping of a premises where controlled substances are used and domestic abuse second offense causing bodily injury, both aggravated misdemeanors; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Berger was also charged with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, a Class B felony; gathering where controlled substances are used, a serious misdemeanor,” and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Berger also faces aggravated misdemeanor charges for possession of controlled substance second offense, keeping of a premises where controlled substances are used, and domestic abuse assault-impeding airway or circulation of blood.  

Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
