Positive COVID Cases Up Across North Iowa in Past Week

The number of new positive COVID cases was up across the north Iowa region for the past week according to data from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH).

For the latest 7-day reporting period ending Tuesday, November 9th, the IDPH shows Floyd County with 58 new COVID cases, up from 50 the week prior. Chickasaw County had 42 new positive tests, up from 28 the week prior.

Cerro Gordo County experienced a surge in new positive COVID cases with 212 this week compared to 118 for the reporting period the week prior.  Elsewhere, Bremer County was up from 48 to 67, Fayette from 37 to 52, Winneshiek from 34 to 48, Butler went from 34 to 41, Howard from 22 to 30, and Franklin County from 17 to 30.

Mitchell County experienced the lowest increase in new positive COVID cases, up one from 34 last week to 35 this week. Worth County again has the lowest number of new COVID cases for the region this week with 19, up from 13 the week prior.
