A plane en route to Mason City last night had to make an emergency landing in Waterloo.
A United Express flight from Chicago to Mason City was diverted to Waterloo Regional Airport after its left engine went out. The right engine was able to power the plane to a safe landing at about 8:30 p.m..
Local police and fire rescue crews responded and helped 14 passengers de-board the plane. There were no injuries.
Shortly after 10 p.m. the passengers boarded a new plane which took them to Mason City, landing at approximately 11 p.m.
