Northeast Iowa Woman Arrested on Drug, Child Endangerment Charges

A northeast Iowa woman has been arrested on felony child endangerment and drug-related charges.

On October 19th, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 309 John Street in Decorah. One month later, the investigation has resulted with its first suspect in custody.

Wednesday, 30-year-old Marissa Kelty of Decorah, was charged with a controlled substance violation-methamphetamine, a Class B felony; controlled substance violation-oxycodone/fentanyl, a Class C felony; and two counts of failure to affix a drug stamp, both Class D felonies.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office says the warrant for Kelty’s arrest also charges her with a Class D felony charge of child endangerment, because she was distributing drugs in a location where two minor children were present. Sheriff Dan Marx says additional arrests are forthcoming.

The Iowa DNE, Decorah Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa department of Human Services and the Winneshiek County Attorney’s Office also assisted with the investigation.
