North Iowa Man Arrested on Drug, Eluding Warrants

A north Iowa man was arrested in Clarksville Sunday on outstanding warrants for drugs, eluding and other offenses.

The Clarksville Police Department says they initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to dim the headlights. During the stop, officers attempted to identify a male passenger, who initially provided false information to conceal his identity. After a brief investigation, the passenger was later identified as 57-year-old Jeffery Friis of Sumner.

Friis was then arrested on three warrants from surrounding counties, including for failure to appear on charges of possession of controlled substance violations, eluding, and driving while revoked. Friis was booked into the Butler County Jail where he was then extradited to Buchanan County to be seen by a judge.
