 COVID Numbers Up and Down Across North Iowa

The majority of north Iowa counties in our area showed a drop in the number of new positive COVID cases this week compared to a week earlier.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Floyd County recorded 51 new COVID cases for the seven-day reporting period through Tuesday, November 23rd. That’s down from the 67 for the reporting period the week before. Chickasaw County also saw a decline for the same time frame from 52 last week to 40 this week.

Cerro Gordo County had 175 new COVID cases this week, still a high number, but down from 226 the previous week. Bremer County was also down from 111 to 97, Butler from 72 to 59, Winneshiek from 68 to 56, and Worth from 28 to 27.

Counties seeing an uptick in new positive COVID cases for the week ending this Tuesday are Franklin with 54, up from 46 the week prior; Mitchell with 40, up from 26; Howard with 40, up from 39 and Fayette County’s 65 COVID cases this week is up from 49 a week earlier.
