Charles City PD Issues Additional Warning of Vehicle Break-Ins

Twice within the last two weeks, the Charles City Police Department has alerted residents to recent vehicle break-ins.

In a Facebook post November 30th, the CCPD said, “We have had many vehicles being gone through lately. Please lock your vehicles even if they are in your drive. Call in suspiciously acting people and activity.”

In a November 22nd post, the department issued a similar post along with a video of what appears to be a male subject using an object to smash the car’s front passenger-side window while the vehicle was sitting in the victim’s driveaway. Even though the video shows an outdoor security light being activated, the suspect proceeded to reach in the car to grab something from inside the vehicle before running away.

In that same post, the CCPD said in addition to the break-ins, there have also been thefts of catalytic converters off vehicles.

If you have experienced or seen any suspicious activity, contact the Charles City Police Department.
