Charles City Senior Center Rebounding from COVID Closure

The Charles City Senior Center continues to rebound from it’s COVID closure of 2020.

The pandemic forced the complete shutdown of the center for about six months last year before the center began offering curbside pickup of meals in October 2020. This past August, the center was again able to offer in-person dining for lunch Monday through Friday.

Board member Judy Hauser says bringing that camaraderie back for seniors four months ago was huge.

Also returning in August was Tuesday night bingo, which Hauser says is open to anyone who wants to play for the $5 packet of bingo cards.

Hauser says families are welcome, with any winnings paid out to the parents. Doors open for bingo Tuesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. with early birds welcome at 6:30 p.m. and officially starting at 7 p.m.
