Wednesday Walk-in COVID vaccination boost clinics continue this week at the Floyd County Public Health office in Charles City.
The department is offering the walk-in clinics for booster COVID shots as well as people seeking their first and/or second dose from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday in December. No appointments are necessary.
During Monday’s Floyd County Board of Health meeting, Public Health Administrator Gail Arjes said attendance has been steady with most traffic in the morning, lunch hour and later in the afternoon. She was asked if the county’s COVID positivity rate has seen an uptick in recent weeks.
Arjes adds that Floyd County Public Health offers Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccines, while Moderna, J&J and Pfizer are all available at Main Street Drug and Hy-Vee pharmacies in Charles City. Currently, only Main Street Drug has the Pfizer pediatric COVID vaccine in Floyd County for kids ages 5 to 11.
