North Iowa Gets Varied Snowfall Accumulations

North Iowa snowfall totals varied widely from the winter storm system that made its way through the area Friday into Saturday morning.

Charles City and Floyd County averaged about two inches of accumulation, while New Hampton and Chickasaw County averaged about three inches of snow.

Mason City received about four inches of snow, while southern sections of Cerro Gordo County got about two inches. Four and five inch totals were also recorded to the north in Worth County. Most of Butler County and about two-thirds of Bremer County averaged three inches of snow.

Accumulations ranged from two to upwards of five inches in Mitchell, Howard and Winneshiek counties, along the Iowa-Minnesota border. Fayette County averaged 1.5 to two inches.
