Weekly COVID Numbers Up, Down in North Iowa

North Iowa saw mixed results in the number of new positive COVID cases for the latest seven-day reporting period ending Tuesday, December 28th.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) coronavirus dashboard, Floyd County’s 17 new COVID cases this week are down by half when compared to the previous week’s number of 34. Chickasaw County’s 27 new COVID cases was a decline from 48 a week earlier.

Other counties seeing a drop in the number of new positive COVID cases this week include Cerro Gordo with 87, down from 98; Winneshiek with 75, down from 80; Fayette with 58, down from 61; Butler with 35, down from 36; and Howard County with 20, down from 34.

North Iowa counties experiencing a slight increase in new positive COVID cases for the seven-day reporting period ending Tuesday, December 28th include Bremer with 76, up from 72 the week prior; Franklin with 27, up from 15; Mitchell with 20, up from 16; and Worth County will 11 new COVID cases this week, up from nine a week earlier.
