Funeral Friday for Longtime Charles City Street Superintendent Uetz

Funeral services for Charles City Street Superintendent Dirk Uetz will be held Friday.
Uetz passed away Monday after a battle with cancer. He was Street Superintendent since 2007 and had been with the department since 1993. Mayor Dean Andrews says Uetz was always willing to pitch in wherever needed.
Andrews says an example of the selflessness of Uetz was evidenced by a recent conversation between him and City Administrator Steve Diers over the possible purchase of a new street vacuum that could cost over $300,000.
Funeral services for Uetz are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Hauser-Weishaar Funeral Home. You can read complete obituary details on our station website.
Linn Wolf is acting street superintendent until a permanent replacement for Uetz is hired.
