Howard County Sheriff’s Office Gets New Body Armor

Four new sets of hard body armor have been donated to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Tim Beckman says the safety vests were donated by Jim and Holly Bass of Bonair(located about halfway between Cresco and Lime Springs).

Beckman says each set of hard body armor costs about $275 and provides invaluable protection to law enforcement agents against ever-growing threats to their safety.

Beckman says they’d welcome donations of additional safety vests and those willing to help can contact the sheriff’s office.

He says the department is also looking at adding new computer tablets in their squad cars by utilizing Cares Act COVID funding.
