A Mason City man has been arrested on a drug trafficking charge.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says they executed a search warrant for illegal narcotics in the 700 block of South Illinois Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. An investigation led to the arrest of 66-year-old George Wescott III on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a Class C felony. Wescott was also charged with serious misdemeanor possession of marijuana and a simple misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wescott was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail. The Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement assisted with the investigation.
