Fundraising Continues for All-Inclusive Playground in New Hampton

The push towards construction of a new all-inclusive playground in New Hampton continues.
Parks and Rec Recreation Coordinator Tara Hackman says they have raised about $55,000 for the playground, which will cover approximately 6,500 square foot.
Hackman says the location of the playground has not been decided, but will be in either Runion Park or Mikkelson Park. The project is estimated to cost about $375,000 and they hope to break ground in Spring 2023.
The playground recently received donations of $1,150 from the Beta Sigma Phi Theta Rho Sorority Group, $500 from Pocketful of Posies, and almost $430 from the New Hampton 5th-8th Chickasaw Leadership Group. In December, the Mark and Kris Kramer Foundation donated $15,000.
