12th Charles City Rotary Radio Auction Most Successful Ever

The Charles City Rotary Radio Auction this past Saturday was the most successful in its history.

That’s Rotary Club’s Tammy Elthon, who says they also received a “tip” on Monday to bring their total take to $7,800, with half of this year’s proceeds going to the TLC’s North Grand Plan project.

Elthon says that made the auction a popular draw, enough so that bidders were willing to pay a little extra for the items up for sale.

Elthon says the biggest individual sale was a pair of tickets to see Elton John in concert in Des Moines in March, selling for $500, more than twice the face value.
