The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is taking public input on two proposed bridge replacement projects coming during the 2024 constriction season in north Iowa.
The DOT’s Pete Hjelmstad says the existing bridge over Flood Creek, about four miles south of where Highway 14 bends at the seven-mile corner west of Charles City, is nearing the end of its lifecycle.
Hjelmstad says the Floyd County replacement bridge will cost about $1.6 million, while a separate bridge replacement on Highway 18 in Chickasaw County will cost about $1.5 million.
The public is encouraged to provide feedback about the project and can do so now through February 28tth.
