Chickasaw County Public Health Making More House Calls

There’s a little more “home” in Chickasaw County Public Health and Home Health Care in the early stages of 2022.
During the Feb. 14th meeting of the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors, Public Health Administrator Lisa Welter compared the number of home visits by her staff from this January to January 2021.
Welter said the increase in home visits, despite the county’s population decreasing, comes through a shift in the approach of how public health provides service.
Welter added that the fees charged for the various home visit services are going up and what insurance will pay continues to vary from company to company. Unfortunately, the rate of reimbursement from those companies is non-negotiable.
