Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) in Charles City has named an interim Chief Information Officer (CIO).
In a media release, the hospital says new CIO Cristina Thomas brings nearly 40 years of experience in healthcare information technology to her new role, including having previously served as CIO for five other organizations ranging from large enterprise health systems to rural critical access facilities.
FCMC Chief Executive Officer Dawnett Willis said, “In the healthcare information technology space that is constantly advancing, Cristina’s vast industry knowledge, leadership and vision will play a vital role at FCMC.”
As interim CIO, Thomas will work towards the successful implementation of Meditech Expanse at FCMC, slated to go live in October 2022.
Thomas earned her Master of Business Administration from Drake University in Des Moines.
