Charles City Police Alert Public to Possible Suspicious Person

The Charles City Police Department has issued a public alert about a possible suspicious subject claiming to be a City employee.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, the CCPD says they took a report this (Wednesday)  morning of a person who knocked on a door in the 100 block of 15th Avenue. The male claimed to be from the water department and asked for entrance to the house. Police say the man was not from the utility department and was not let into the house by the caller who reported the suspicious activity. 

The male subject was described as over six-feet tall, wearing a tool belt, a blue jacket and blue jeans. They ask citizens to be aware of this incident and call CCPD (at 228-3366) immediately if you have a suspicious person come to your door.
