Charles City to Apply Again for TAP Trail Money

The City of Charles City will again apply for a Transportation Alternative (TAP) Grant to help pay for the 11th Avenue bike and recreational trail extension.

That’s City Engineer John Fallis, who reported to the City Council Wednesday night, that the TAP grant would cover about 80% of the project’s estimated $280,000 to $290,000 cost. That would leave the City to cover about $56,000.

The City was unsuccessful in applying for a similar TAP grant last year.
