Special Elections Reminders for Chickasaw County Voters

There’s a special supervisors election next week in Chickasaw County.

Five candidates are vying for the District 1 seat on the Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors. The winner will fill out the remaining term of the position that became vacant with the death of Rick Holthaus January 2nd.

Democrat Steven Breitbach was appointed interim supervisor and is seeking to serve the rest of the term, which goes through December 31st, 2024. Other candidates include Republican Mike Winters and independents Mark Knoll, Larry Laures, and David Tilkes, who was the District 1 Supervisor before Holthaus won the seat in November 2020.

District 1 voters can vote in the auditor’s office Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1. 

Chickasaw County Elections Officer Laura Wickham reminds voters to bring your ID and  anyone that has a ballot that was mailed to them needs to have their ballot returned to the Auditor’s Office at the Chickasaw County Courthouse by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
