Three People Injured in Two-Vehicle Wreck in Fayette County

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash about 10 miles north of Oelwein Tuesday morning.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says the collision occurred at the intersection of 110th Street and P Avenue shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies determined that a 2015 Buick driven by 51-year-old Theresa Bachman of Maynard had failed to yield to a 2014 Dodge Avenger driven by 35-year-old Tiffany Watts of Oelwein.
Authorities say Watts and her juvenile passenger were transported to MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein by hospital ambulance and were being treated for their injuries. Bachman was trapped in her vehicle and after she was extricated by the Maynard Fire Department, was also transported to MercyOne by the Fayette Ambulance Service. Bachman was later transferred to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for serious life-threatening injuries.
The wreck remains under investigation and both vehicles were considered total losses.
A GoFundMe account has been created to help Bachman with hospital expenses. A description in the account for Bachman reads that she sustained multiple injuries to her neck, head and brain and that she has undergone one brain procedure already.
The account has a goal of $10,000 and you can find a link to donate here.
