Hawkeye QB Petras Touts Saving Over Spending

As an Iowa Hawkeye quarterback, Spencer Petras is used to playing on the green turf of Kinnick Stadium. Last week, Petras talked about saving green with Charles City High School students.

Petras made a classroom stop as part of his role as a financial literacy spokesman for Charles City-based First Security Bank. Petras says students asked great questions about important money matters.

Petras, who came to Iowa after a stellar high school football career in the San Francisco area, says he hopes to be a part of the game after playing for the Hawkeyes.

Petras will be a senior this fall with the Iowa football team. He began last season as the starter, but split time with junior-to-be Alex Padilla down the stretch of a 10-and-4 season.

The Hawkeyes open the 2022 campaign September 3rd hosting South Dakota State.
