New Hampton residents warned about utility service phone scam

The New Hampton City Clerk’s office is warning of a phone scam.

The scam involves calls being placed to New Hampton residents from a local “394” number, claiming that “you need to pay your electric bill in the next 30 minutes or your services will be disconnected.”

You’re asked to not respond to the calls.

The City of New Hampton follows specific rules and procedures dictated by the State of Iowa for utility service.

For more information, please contact the clerk’s office at (641) 394-5906.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
