Iowa DOT Seeks Public Input on North Iowa Bridge Project

The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input for a proposed bridge replacement in Bremer County.
The DOT says the proposed project is about 15 miles northeast of Waverly on U.S. Highway 63 over Crane Creek, about 1.5 miles south of Iowa 188. The existing 73’ x 30’ steel girder bridge will be replaced with a triple reinforced concrete box measuring 12’ x 10’ x 141’ .
Construction is expected to begin in 2024. The DOT adds that through traffic on Highway 63 will be maintained during construction.
Comments on the project must be received by March 28th to be considered.
