New Hampton to Get ready for RAGBRAI Riders to Pass Through

New Hampton looks to hit the ground running in their efforts to have thousands of bike riders pass-through town on this year’s RAGBRAI route.

RAGBRAI riders will stay overnight in Charles City on July 28th. The next morning they head east, passing through Ionia and then New Hampton, which New Horizons Chamber Executive Director Jason Speltz says will be a showcase for the town.

Speltz says preparations are just getting started and he’ll join Mayor Bobby Schwickerath at a meeting in Mason City this Saturday for more instructions from RAGBRAI, but adds there will be live music, food stands and beverage tents waiting for the riders.

Speltz advises watching their New Hampton RAGBRAI Facebook page coming soon for more updates on vending and volunteering opportunities.

After passing through New Hampton, RAGBRAI riders head to the meeting town of Lawler before passing through Waucoma and Hawkeye on their way to West Union for the final overnight stay on July 29th.
