Public Input Requested for Bridge Replacement in Fayette County

The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input for a proposed bridge replacement in Fayette County.

The proposed project involves a bridge over a stream on Iowa Highway 93 about one mile west of Fayette County Road V-68. The existing 30’ x 30’ steel beam bridge will be replaced with a twin 12’ x 11’ x 90’ reinforced concrete box.

The DOT says traffic on Iowa 93 will be detoured during construction using Fayette County Roads V-68, C-33, and V-62. Construction is expected to begin in 2024.

Public comments on the project must be received by April 25, 2022 to be considered.

For general information or to make a comment regarding the proposed bridge project, contact Pete Hjelmstad, field services coordinator, Iowa DOT District 2 Office, 428 43rd St. SW, Mason City, Iowa 50401, phone 641-423-7584 or 800-477-4368, email pete.hjelmstad@iowadot.us.
