Traffic Pattern Change to Take Effect Today (04.18) on Highway 218/18 Floyd Interchange 

Construction on the new Highway 218/18/Avenue of the Saints interchange at Floyd is slated to take on a noticeable change starting today.

That’s Pete Hjelmstad with the Iowa DOT’s Mason City district office, who also alerts motorists that there will be temporary traffic lights at the intersection to Floyd and that the work on the eastbound lanes is expected to continue through late fall. Reconstruction of the westbound lanes will occur during the 2023 construction season.

Cedar Valley Corporation of Waterloo has been contracted for the project at a cost of about $20 million.
