The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says the Delaware County Communications Center received a 911 call around 3:30 am reporting the residential fire at 105 Beckner Street. The caller advised that a child was still inside the home. The Greeley Fire Department responded and requested assistance, with Edgewood, Delaware and Manchester fire departments also responding to the scene. Fire crews found the body of a 9-year old girl inside the home. Authorities have not released her name.

West Delaware Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says the girl was a 4th grader at Lambert Elementary. Counselors will be available at Lambert on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. The Sheriff’s Office says the home was a total loss.

The Greeley Fire Department and State Fire Marshall’s Office are investigating what caused the fire. No other details have been released. A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help the family: https://gofund.me/02736ce7
