New Hampton High School prom festivities this weekend include an unusual tradition.
The Grand March begins at 7 p.m. in the Old High School Gym with tickets $2; the dance is 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. at The Pub at the Pinicon; and post prom starts at midnight. However, prom weekend isn’t finished until the band and choir “Coffee House Concert” this Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Competition Gym.
Band Director Justin Adam says it’s a tradition that goes back some three decades.
Adam adds that there will also be refreshments available along special table settings to give the atmosphere a “coffee house” feel.
Doors open at 1 p.m. with tickets $5 for adults, $3 for kids and activity passes accepted.
