Charles City Woman to be Sentenced in July for Fatal 2021 Crash

A Charles City woman will be sentenced this summer for causing a head-on crash that killed two people last Labor Day weekend .

According to court documents, the Iowa State Patrol says 29-year-old Casey Lindahl was intoxicated when her vehicle went across the center line near the intersection of Underwood Avenue and 140th Street, about ten miles northeast of Charles City, on September 4, 2021. Her vehicle then collided head-on with another vehicle, killing two occupants, 77-year-old Chris Anderson and 76-year-old Anita Anderson, both of Mason City. Lindahl and her three-year-old son were also injured in the wreck.

Last month, Lindahl entered guilty pleas to two counts of homicide by vehicle-OWI, both Class B felony; plus one count of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. Last week, her plea was accepted and sentencing was set for July 18th in Floyd County District Court.
