Initial Report on Study of Chickasaw County-Run Ambulance Tonight

Chickasaw County officials will get an update Tuesday (05.17) evening on the initial findings from a Minnesota company studying the feasibility of the county operating its own ambulance service.

The Chickasaw Ambulance Council has contracted with SaveTech Solutions for the study, which began in mid-March with a series of interviews with the various municipalities in the county represented on the ambulance council. SaveTech also held a rare town hall meeting for the public to weigh in on the issue. This “Phase 1” of the study also included gathering various statistical information such as number of ambulance calls, where they come from, and response times.

Chickasaw County Supervisor Jacob Hackman has been the lead contact with SaveTech. During an early April supervisors meeting, Hackman said  the company will issue a report on the information gathering as part of their “Phase II” report in May.

The joint meeting between the Board of Supervisors and the Ambulance Council begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Chickasaw Events Center.

The County currently has a contract with Jeremy McGrath and Chickasaw Ambulance Service through December 31st.
