Howard-Winneshiek School District Announces Finalists for High School Principal

The Howard-Winneshiek School District is looking to fill its second high profile position this month.

The School Board has announced three finalists to interview for High School Principal including:

  • Todd Coulter, currently the school district’s Assistant Principal and Activities Director. 
  • Lisa Dursky, currently Middle School and High School ELL Instructor at Dubuque Community School District,  Assistant Professor of Education at Clarke University, and Online Instructor for VIPKID. 
  • Sarah Tobiason, currently Elementary Principal, District Director of Special Education, and District Equity Coordinator in the DecorahSchool District.

 Interviews are scheduled for Monday, May 23rd. Numerous stakeholders will have the opportunity to meet the candidates and submit input to the board, which intends to make their selection the same day.

The school district retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson to assist in conducting their search, with the board selecting the three finalists.

Earlier this month, Kris Einck was hired as Howard-Winneshiek Superintendent to succeed current Superintendent Ted Ihns, who’s resignation is effective June 30th to take over as Superintendent of Indianola Schools July 1st.

Einck is currently the superintendent and high school principal of the South Winneshiek Community School District.
