Cresco Company to Help City of New Hampton Address Ash Tree Problem

The City of New Hampton will contract with a Cresco company to take down almost 200 Ash trees impacted by Emerald Ash Borers.

Mayor Bobby Schwickerath says the City Council has approved hiring Wilson Custom Tree Service for about $120,000.

Schwickerath adds that it’s important to start taking the ash trees down sooner rather than later.

Schwickerath also noted that the overall price for the tree removal was much lower than anticipated, but the City still must address how to make the budget work to pay for it.
