All New Hampton Police Squad Cars Now Outfitted with Thermal Cameras

All New Hampton Police squad cars are now equipped with thermal imaging cameras.

A department Facebook post says, “With help from our grant funding partners, the New Hampton Police Department has completed its vehicle-mounted thermal cameras project.

That’s Police Chief Zach Nosbisch, who says the cameras will help with more than just aiding criminal investigations and apprehending criminal suspects.

The cameras, mounted on each patrol vehicles’ spot light, will also provide officers with an improved level of personal safety and situational awareness.

Nosbisch thanked all grant funding partners in the project including First Citizens Bank, the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa and the Enbridge company.
