“Party Animals” Invited to Charles City Friday Night

The finale of the 2022 “Party in the Park” summer series in Charles City will give new meaning to the term “party animal.”

With a theme of “Animal Kingdom Night,” season-ending festivities are scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. this Friday night in Central Park. There will be a petting zoo sponsored by Zoetis, animal face mask creations courtesy the Charles City Public Library, and Girl Scouts will be making S’mores in addition to various other games and activities.

“Party animals” can also enjoy live musical entertainment provided by Flatland Ridge, playing current and classic country, pop and rock hits.

Admission is free, although Party in the Park tokens are needed to purchase food and beverages as well as some games. This Friday will also be the final opportunity to use this year’s special Party in the Park tokens, which will not carry over to next summer.

Friday’s event will also feature food and beverage vendors, including Island Grill, Hy-Vee, Cookie Doughtique, Maria’s Tacos, Pat’s BBQ , the Rotary Popcorn Wagon and Shiver N Squirrel.

Party in the Park is organized each year by Main Street Charles City and made possible by community sponsors. This week’s sponsors, in addition to Zoetis, are Cambrex Charles City, First Citizens Bank, Main Street Drug, Perry Novak Electric, Pure Prairie Farms and Subway. There is no admission fee to enter the park.
