Nashua Man Killed After Crashing His Motorcycle

A Nashua man was killed after crashing his motorcycle about 10 miles east of Decorah Wednesday morning.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report at about 8 a.m. Wednesday that the wreck occurred on Old Stage Road, near the intersection with Winnmakee Road. The caller also advised authorities that CPR was in progress on a male lying in the ditch.

Law enforcement determined that 26-year-old Cole Diesburg had lost control of the motorcycle while trying to navigate a curve in the road. It appeared that the bike initially lost traction in the grass and gravel, then skidded on the road after the rear retire regained traction on the pavement, causing the motorcycle to roll and flip into the ditch.

Diesburg was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Diesburg’s girlfriend stated that he had left their home, about a mile away, a short time before the crash.
