The North Iowa Area Community College Charles City Scholarship Committee hosts its 25th bi-annual scholarship fundraiser Thursday evening.
This year’s event includes its traditional gourmet dinner at the Charles City Elks Lodge, which the scholarship committee’s Ann Troge says allows for more people to attend. Previous events at the Charles City NIACC Center limited attendance to just 96 people previously. However, Troge adds that the growth in the event’s popularity has also meant some scaling back.
Troge says funds raised for scholarships will go to students who attend NIACC part-time.
Troge says besides the gourmet dinner, they’ve also added silent and live auctions to the festivities.
More than 150 Floyd County residents have benefited from this scholarship fund, which is made possible through the support and generosity of local businesses and community members.
