The Charles City Lions Club announced a $5,000 donation to the building of a new skate park last week during the City Council meeting.
Park-Rec Director Tyler Mitchell says they’re counting on contributions to make the project a reality.
While pulling the funds together for the skate park continues, Mitchell says they’re still trying to determine where it will be built.
Mitchell says the City has $10,000 already earmarked for the skate park and if you’d like to donate either monetarily or with materials, such as lighting, please contact the Park-Rec Department.
