Floyd County Community Foundation to Host Free Coffee, Community Events

The Floyd County Community Foundation will host a series of free coffee events on remaining Wednesdays in September to bring greater awareness to the work of the Foundation and its partners.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Foundation and how they can be a part of making our communities better for everyone is invited to stop by Aromas Coffee for a free cup of coffee or other beverage of choice. Sessions are scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 14th; from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 21st; and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28th.

In 2021, the Community Foundation awarded over $137,000 in grants to 23 nonprofit organizations serving Floyd County in the areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health, and human service. Decisions on grant awards are determined by a local governing committee, which is made up of volunteers from the county.

Since 2005, over $2.4 million in total grants have been awarded.
