Northeast Iowa Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Waterloo

A northeast Iowa man is dead following a three-vehicle wreck near Waterloo Thursday.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash occurred near Evansdale at about 3 p.m. Thursday. Two pickup trucks and a motorcycle were driving south on I-380 in the construction area near mile marker 69 when the first truck slowed for traffic causing the motorcyclist, 24-year-old Ethan Edge of Waterloo,  to lose control hitting the first pickup.

Authorities say the second pickup attempted to slow down, but was unable to avoid hitting the motorcycle, killing Edge.

The Evansdale and Waterloo police departments, the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Evansdale Ambulance and the Iowa DOT also assisted at the scene.
