Charles City Homecoming Week Peaks Friday

Charles City Homecoming Week 2022 festivities come to a head Friday.

The football prep rally begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Comet Gym at the Middle School with the Homecoming Court coronation slated for 2:55 p.m. Queen candidates are Ava Ellis, Olivia Litterer, Hailey Kowalski, Nora Hruska, and Harper McInroy. King candidates are Drew Martin, Nathan Lopez, Zachary Chambers, Anders Haglund, Kayden Blunt.

The Homecoming Parade in downtown Charles City begins at 4:15 p.m. rain or shine and can also be watched online through www.kchanews.com 

The Homecoming Court will be recognized at 7 p.m. prior to the football game at 7:30 p.m. against Hampton-Dumont-Cal. The Homecoming dance follows the game at the High School.

This year’s Homecoming theme is “Back in Orange and Black.”

 

Charles City Homecoming Week activities featured the first-ever “Fun Fall Night” Thursday.

Kim Scott is with the Charles City Booster Club, which co-sponsored the event with Hy-Vee.

 Scott says student-athletes in sports and activities in grades 9 through 12 were fed for free.
