EMS Advisory Council Town Hall Meeting Wednesday Night in Nora Springs

The Floyd County EMS Advisory Council Wednesday night will host its final town hall meeting for this week in advance of November’s vote on a resolution to declare emergency medical services (EMS) as essential services.

If the measure is approved, it would allow the County to use a combination of a property tax and income surcharge to raise up to $556,000 a year for 10 years, with revenue going to fund the various ambulances and first responders who provide service in the County.

The EMS Council has scheduled a series of town halls to educate voters how the resolution works, what it means to future EMS services, and how the tax could be assessed. 

Tuesday night’s public meeting was hosted at Nora Springs City Hall and Wednesday night’s 7 p.m. session will be at the Greene EMS Building.
