Nashua Man Pleads Not Guilty to Child Sex Abuse

A Nashua man accused of sexually abusing two minors has pleaded not guilty.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Ethan Vorhes after an investigation determined he sexually abuse two children on multiple occasions over the course of a four-year period from 2018 to 2022. Vorhes is also accused of showing pornography to one of his victims, both of whom were under the age of 15 at the time of the alleged illegal activity 

Charges were filed against Vorhes July 14th including two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, Class B felonies; two counts each of third-degree sexual abuse and lascivious acts with a child, all Class C felonies;, two counts of indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor; plus indecent exposure, and exhibiting obscene material to a minor, both serious misdemeanors.

A warrant for his arrest was issued July 15th and Vorhes was apprehended on August 31st. Last week he pleaded not guilty and his trial is scheduled to begin October 25th.

Vorhes is being held in the Floyd County Jail with bail set at $57,000 cash-only. A motion by his attorney this week to have his bail reduced was denied.
