One of Iowa’s most decorated high school female wrestlers is expected to formally announce Thursday where she will wrestle collegiately,
Charles City’s Lilly Luft, a two-time state champion and three-time state placewinner, is also the top-ranked wrestler in Iowa and rated as the number 13 girls wrestler nationally. She has also placed in the top five in various national wrestling competitions.
Luft will make her college wrestling team selection known during a “Commitment Announcement” reception from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Tellurian Brewing in Charles City.
HawkCentral.com is reporting Luft has committed to the University of Iowa and is the first known recruit for the Hawkeyes for the Class of 2023.
